Sharp Gallery presents "Spirits" by artist Susan E. Roden, November 10-December 6, 2007. Susan E. Roden's pastels are diminutive, vibrant and impacted with mood and color.  From fleeting white clouds in blue skies, to ships docked and afloat, and minimalist studies of fruits and vegetables, the viewer experiences movement created by the mass of individualized strokes varying in depth.  Her range varies from figurative to traditional landscapes and yet more contemporary still lifes. Susan quests to impact others with the beauty of life in all it's simplistic, expressive moods.  Susan's still life "cocktails" are a play on common cocktail names.  This whimsical play on words is combined with her artistic excellence to create "Spirits".
